Cypress Labs was founded by Mick Everett in 1993 and for 13
years had been a resource for two well known competitive market research
firms. In 2006 Cypress Labs made the decision to become a self contained
company, independent of the constraints of a contracted sales and marketing
company. We now welcome all manufacturers, long term and "soon to be"
clients who wish to experience the many benefits of working with the Cypress
Labs "Direct" business model.
The origin of the need for Cypress Labs derived from the
following manufacturing situations:
- Our clients manufacture component intensive products, and more often than
not they achieve this manufacturing through global Contract Manufacturing
relationships. Throughout this process the Contract Manufacturer and the OEM
purchase components and materials from suppliers to build their products.
- Cypress Labs provides a highly qualified “sanity check” regarding the costs
incurred in this manufacturing process.
- In the end, our product specific analysis empowers our clients with a
credible way to monitor their contract manufacturers and suppliers regarding
component and manufacturing costs.
- Given the high volumes of production runs, the savings incurred on each unit
as a result of our analysis, provides financial justification for utilizing our
unique resource.
In 2008, Cypress labs moved its working laboratory to Dallas
under the direction of Tamim Shipchandler.
